Advice for those in the earthquake affected areas
- MPI is working with CDEM, industry organisations and community groups to monitor the situation for rural communities, particularly around hardest-hit areas of Kaikoura, Hurunui and Southern Marlborough.
- Federated Farmers has opened their line to offers of help for affected farmers on 0800 327 646 or 0800 FARMING.
- Anyone concerned about rural people they cannot contact should call the Police on 03 363 7400 and press 0 to speak to their operator.
- If anyone is concerned about the non-urgent wellbeing of a farmer, grower, worker or their family, you can call your Rural Support Trust on 0800 RURAL HELP (0800 787 254).
